Odyssey Coaching

Forged in Fire.
Guided by Purpose.

For men navigating life's hardest terrain — from relationship breakdown and addiction to childhood trauma and the weight of fatherhood. You don't have to walk it alone.

This isn't textbook coaching.
It comes from lived experience.

Shaun Dixon — Odyssey Coaching

Hey, I'm Shaun.

I've walked through childhood trauma, the loss of my dad at 12, a 20-year marriage shaped by trauma bonding, addiction, affairs, separation, and divorce. I'm not reading about this stuff in books — I've lived it.

Over the last 12 years, I've done my own deep work — recovery, healing, and figuring out who I actually am underneath all of it. That journey changed everything. And it's the reason I coach.

I'm a Certified Trauma & Recovery Wellness Coach, a Dad's Group Facilitator with the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Chippewas of Nawash, and a caseworker helping people access disability support through the Ontario Public Service.

I've spent over a decade facilitating recovery groups, working in crisis intervention, and walking alongside men doing the hardest work of their lives. Odyssey Coaching is where all of that comes together.

Shaun helped me look within myself and figure out what needed work first. I have a new way of seeing setbacks — not as roadblocks, but as speed bumps. I'm more confident than I've ever been.

Coaching that meets you where you are — not where you think you should be.

This isn't about fixing you. You're not broken. It's about cutting through the noise, finding direction, and building a life defined by purpose instead of pain.

🔥

Direct, Not Clinical

Plain language. Zero therapy jargon. We talk like real people about real problems — no dancing around the hard stuff.

🤝

Warm, Not Soft

Empathy without coddling. I'll stand with you in the fire, but I'm not going to pretend the heat isn't real.

🧭

Gritty, Not Aggressive

Real talk with respect behind it. This work takes courage — and you deserve a coach who honours that without pushing you off the cliff.

Four steps. No guesswork.

Getting started doesn't need to be complicated. Here's how the journey begins.

1

Book Your Free Consultation

A no-pressure 20-minute virtual call where you share what's going on and what brought you here. It's also a chance to see if we're the right fit — this has to feel right for both of us.

2

Choose Your Path

Based on where you are and where you want to go, pick what works: the monthly subscription for consistent work, or single sessions for flexibility. You set the agenda — I help you build the roadmap.

3

Do the Work

1-on-1 sessions — virtual or face-to-face. We dig into the real stuff: patterns, triggers, blind spots, goals. This is where transformation happens, one honest conversation at a time.

4

Own Your Direction

The goal isn't to need me forever. It's to build the tools, awareness, and confidence to lead your own life — defined by purpose, not pain. That's the odyssey.

"

I feel like I've been given the key to unlock doors from my past, which allows me to live with confidence in the present. It's given me a solid foundation for my future. I couldn't have asked for a better coach.

Coaching is a relational process that supports growth, recovery, and change. You set the agenda, choose the goals, and decide the actions. My job is to draw the best out of you — help you build a plan, stay focused, and follow through.

Therapy typically addresses past trauma, mental health diagnoses, and emotional healing from a clinical perspective. Coaching focuses on the present and future — identifying obstacles, building strategies, and taking action toward the life you want.

They work brilliantly together. Many of my clients work with a therapist alongside our coaching. It's not one or the other — it's whatever combination serves you best.
Primarily men aged 30 and up who are navigating something difficult — relationship breakdown, addiction, childhood trauma, divorce, fatherhood challenges, or just the feeling of being stuck. That said, I also work with women, couples, and singles. If you're ready to do the work, we can have a conversation.
Everything starts with a free 20-minute consultation — virtual, no obligation. From there, you choose what works: single sessions ($115 virtual / $150 face-to-face), or the monthly subscription ($260/month for up to 3 virtual sessions, with the option to swap any session for face-to-face with a $35 top-up). Sessions are one hour each. Subscribers book in advance at their own pace. Single-session clients pay at time of booking. I'm based in Owen Sound, Ontario for face-to-face sessions.
For the monthly subscription: cancel anytime before your next billing period — no lock-in contracts. You won't be refunded for the current month, but your remaining sessions stay active until that period ends. Unused session credits expire at the end of each billing period and don't roll over.

For rescheduling: you can move any session up to 48 hours before the appointment. If you reschedule within 48 hours, that session credit is forfeited. Life happens — but this boundary keeps the work on track for both of us.
The monthly subscription ($260/month) gives you up to 3 virtual sessions and saves you up to $85 compared to booking three single sessions. It's designed for consistent, ongoing work — the kind that creates real change. You can also swap any virtual credit for a face-to-face session by paying a $35 top-up.

Single sessions ($115 virtual / $150 face-to-face) are pay-as-you-go. No commitment beyond the session itself. Both options require completing the free consultation first — that's non-negotiable, because the fit has to be right.
This is for you if you're struggling with loss, grief, childhood trauma, relationship issues, addiction, shame, or the feeling of hitting rock bottom — and you're ready to do something about it.

This probably isn't for you if you're not ready to invest in yourself, put in the work, or see change. Coaching requires honesty, effort, and showing up. If you're not there yet, that's okay — but this works best when you are.
It's a 20-minute virtual call — no pressure, no obligation. You share what's going on, what brought you here, and what you're hoping to get out of coaching. I share how I work and we figure out together if this is the right fit. No sales pitch. Just an honest conversation. Every paid session — whether single or subscription — starts here first.
Absolutely. I'm a coach, not a therapist — and I believe in a team approach. If you're working with a therapist, counsellor, GP, or support group, I'm happy to integrate with your broader support system where it makes sense. The goal is your wellbeing, not my ego.

Through Shaun's coaching, I've been able to identify and work on parts of myself that felt overwhelming to navigate alone. His patient, supportive approach showed me that with the right guidance, we can each reach our full potential.
